Bharat Benz Trucks


The BharatBenz brand was launched in India in 2011, under Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) which is a subsidiary of truck major Daimler AG BharatBenz focuses on producing trucks in the weight category of 6 to 49 tonnes and provides platforms for a wide range of haulage and construction applications. While the Light-duty trucks are based on the FUSO platform, the Heavy-duty trucks are based on the Mercedes-Benz Axor platform .Developed on globally proven platforms: Mercedes -Benz Axor and Fuso Canter, BharatBenz trucks are designed to provide the highest level of driver comfort and safety. Engineered to give the best fuel-efficiency and low total cost of ownership. 2012 has been a crucial year for the young BharatBenz brand. After a sneak preview for the media in early January, the entire BharatBenz range was introduced to fleet owners at an exclusive ‘Premiere’ in the Indian city of Hyderabad. In April the new state-of-the-art plant was inaugurated at Oragadam, near Chennai, the hometown of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV).In June, series production of the first heavy-duty trucks (25 tonne) commenced. Prior to series production, to guarantee maximum quality and economy BharatBenz trucks has been extensively tested for 5.5 million kilometers DICV aims to offer value-for-money trucks that will deliver top notch performance, reliability and fuel efficiency. The first product scheduled for a market launch from BharatBenz is the 2523 Heavy Duty Truck (HDT) with 233PS of power, based on the Mercedes- Benz  Axor platform. DICV aims to launch the vehicle in September 2012.
