Mahindra Quanto
Mahindra launched their mini-Xylo, SUV Quanto on thursday in India.Designed for the modern family, the Mahindra Quanto fuses the convenience and practicality of a hatchback, with the space and comfort of an SUV.
The Quanto, based on Mahindra’s Ingenio vehicle platform, measures less than four meters in length.The bonnet is a straight lift from the Xylo.
Mahindra currently manufactures the Xylo utility vehicle on the same Ingenio platform.
Quanto is powered by a new mCR100 1.5 liter diesel engine, which is the world's first engine to have a twin-stage turbo. The 100bhp engine coupled with 240NM of torque gives the Quanto impressive performance.
Quanto comes packed with a range of active and passive safety features. In case of an emergency, the Dual SRS airbags inflate instantly, protecting occupants from serious injury. An Anti-lock Braking System gives you greater control on slick surfaces.
The Intellipark Reverse Assist System helps drivers avoid nasty surprises while reversing, while the Engine Immobilizer ensures takes care of anyone with prying fingers. The Quanto also comes with powerful fog lamps that render better visibility in foggy conditions.
By utilizing Micro Hybrid Technology, the Quanto has an ARAI certified mileage of 17.2 km/liter.
Being launched in four variants (C2, C4, C6 and C8), the Quanto ranges from 5.82 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) for the base C2 model to Rs 7.36 lakh for the fully loaded top-end version. All the Quanto variants are powered by the same1.5-litre diesel engine.
The Quanto is available in six colours — Fiery Black, Mist Silver, Toreador Red, Java Brown, Diamond White and Rocky Beige — and comes with a two-tonne granite themed dashboard
Excellent reviews.The biggest challenge for M&M, however, will be attracting buyers of family cars. With MPVs like the Ertiga raising the benchmark and levels of expectation as far as quality is concerned, can Mahindra’s baby win the hearts of everyday car buyers?
